Cobre y Maíz is a fictional restaurant created to demonstrate the Aztec design by Get Plated. Its story, menu, events and contact details are original showcase material.
The idea begins with two materials that change beautifully with heat: copper and corn. One glows; the other blisters, sweetens and becomes the foundation of the table. Our fictional kitchen cooks over flame, presses tortillas through service and builds every plate around the pleasure of sharing it.
The flavours look to Mexico—masa, mole, citrus, chilli and smoke—while the produce follows the Australian season. The result is not a museum piece and it is not shorthand Tex-Mex. It is bright, considered food with enough generosity for another taco and enough detail to reward a slower look.
Dinner here is a table crowded with tostadas, bowls of salsa and plates arriving when they are ready. Come for one drink and a snack or settle in with the whole menu between you. Either way, the last tortilla is always worth negotiating over.
